FAQ / 09 answers

The questions worth asking before the first send.

Good SMS work starts with sender route, consent evidence, data, message purpose, and ownership. These answers explain how SMSRise approaches the work and where provider, carrier, or legal decisions sit outside an agency's control.

What do teams ask SMSRise most often?

The answers below apply to our normal agency scope. Provider rules, carrier programs, and legal requirements can change, so current primary material and qualified counsel take priority over a static page.

Questions / 09

What should you ask before work starts?

Do you replace our SMS platform?

Usually, no. SMSRise works inside platforms such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, and Twilio when the current setup fits the job. We first inspect consent records, sender type, event tracking, and campaign logic. A platform move only enters the plan when the present system blocks a needed workflow or creates an operating cost that outweighs migration risk.

Can SMSRise guarantee revenue or delivery?

No responsible agency can guarantee either. Carriers control filtering, customers control consent and buying decisions, and platform data can be incomplete. We can guarantee a documented operating process: pre-send checks, consent review, clear measurement definitions, QA evidence, and an honest account of what changed. Commercial outcomes remain subject to your audience, offer, traffic, data, and sending history.

How quickly can work start?

A focused audit can normally begin once access, consent language, sender details, and a recent campaign export are available. Registration work follows carrier and provider review queues. Twilio currently tells applicants that campaign reviews can take 10 to 15 days, so a calendar promise made before submission would be misleading. We build the work plan around those external dependencies.

Does every US business text need A2P 10DLC registration?

A2P 10DLC applies when an application sends messages to US recipients from a 10-digit long-code number. Twilio states that all traffic it sends from a 10DLC number to US recipients must be registered, including traffic from individuals and hobbyists. Toll-free numbers and short codes follow separate registration or verification paths, so sender type should be checked first.

Is A2P 10DLC the same as legal consent?

No. Registration identifies the sender and campaign to the messaging ecosystem; it does not create consumer consent. A program still needs an appropriate opt-in, accurate disclosure, working opt-out handling, and records that match the messages sent. Carrier acceptance and legal compliance overlap, but they are different checks. Ask qualified counsel to review interpretations of the TCPA and state law.

What information does a campaign application need?

Expect to provide the legal business identity, tax or registration details, campaign purpose, sample messages, opt-in flow, help behavior, and opt-out behavior. The evidence must agree across the form, website, screenshots, and sample copy. Twilio also requires publicly accessible privacy-policy and terms URLs for new API campaign submissions from June 30, 2026, so those pages belong in the launch checklist.

Which SMS platforms does SMSRise work with?

The operating method can be applied in Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Twilio, and comparable messaging systems. Platform fit depends on your commerce stack, markets, sender routes, data needs, team skill, and contract. We inspect the existing account before suggesting a move. If the current system can support the plan, keeping it usually reduces migration risk and rework.

Is legal counsel part of the SMSRise fee?

No. SMSRise organizes consent evidence, sender records, message samples, operating controls, and questions for review. We do not provide legal advice or replace qualified counsel. If your program needs an opinion on the TCPA, state law, privacy rules, or industry-specific duties, your lawyer owns that interpretation and approval. We translate approved decisions into settings and checks.

What does the free audit include?

The initial audit reviews the sender type and registration status, visible opt-in paths, consent-source data, live campaigns and automations, suppression behavior, tracking definitions, and obvious ownership gaps. It produces a concise problem map and a proposed next step. Deeper legal review, data engineering, platform migration, and full production work require a separate written scope.
